The following guidelines establish certain conditions relating to the use of Terminal 4 and its roadways.

These guidelines establish certain conditions relating to the use of Terminal 4 and its roadways.
Children and baggage must be accompanied at all times.
USE OF ESCALATORS, MOVING WALKWAY, AND STAIRS
Passenger elevators, escalators, and moving walkways may only be used for their intended purpose. They may not be used for baggage carts or to carry freight.
PERSONAL CONDUCT
No person shall skateboard, roller-skate, ride a bicycle, scooter or operate any self-propelled vehicles or device, except a wheelchair, in or through Terminal 4.
DEFACING OR DAMAGING TERMINAL OR PROPERTY
No person shall deface, mark, break or otherwise damage any part of Terminal 4. No person shall spit, urinate or defecate on any part of Terminal 4 other than in a urinal or toilet.
BATHING, SHOWERING, ETC.
No person may bathe, shower, launder, change clothes or remain undressed, in or at any public sink, washroom or restroom, in any other area of Terminal 4 that is not designated as a bathing or showering facility. No person may sleep or lie on any area of Terminal 4 where such activity may be hazardous, interfere with the operation of Terminal 4, pedestrian flow or comfort of Terminal 4 users.
ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES
No person shall drink or carry an open alcoholic beverage except where alcoholic beverages are served for on-premises consumption. Any person who appears intoxicated shall be asked to leave the premises.
SMOKING & OPEN FLAMES
Pursuant to New York City law, smoking cigarettes, including electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes) indoors is illegal. Smoking is prohibited in Terminal 4 and aeronautical Operations Areas. Smoking is permitted only in designated areas immediately outside Terminal 4 (Arrival and Departure level). Smoking permitted 25 feet from building entrances only.
FILMING
Filming or photographing the interior and exterior of Terminal 4 is not permitted except for the following:
Taking pictures of family or friends for non-commercial reasons while at Terminal 4 is allowed at the discretion of the Terminal 4 supervisory and security personnel.
Filming for commercial purposes (including journalists, reporters and other professionals) is permitted only with prior written consent from JFKIAT management.
Photographing in Customs and Border Protection areas and the TSA Screening Checkpoints, filming airport personnel and Port Authority Police is prohibited at all times.
GARBAGE DISPOSAL & REMOVAL
Recycling and trash bins are placed throughout the terminal. Each person who generates trash is responsible to dispose recyclable waste and trash in the appropriate containers.
LOST ARTICLES
Lost articles at Terminal 4 shall be delivered to `Lost and Found’ located in the Arrivals Hall. Unclaimed items shall be disposed of pursuant to applicable law and Port Authority rules.
TRAVELING WITH PETS
T4 is a Pet friendly terminal. ,All pets must be properly secured or on a leash.
Pet relief areas are located outside the terminal on the 1st Floor Arrivals Level, and post-security on the B Concourse between gates B31 & B33. Owners are expected to clean up after their animals.
LOITERING
No person shall loiter or remain at Terminal 4, unless specifically authorized to do so, for the purpose of soliciting or engaging in any business, trade or commercial transactions involving the sale of merchandise, food/drink, or services, or is found sleeping therein, and is unable to give a satisfactory explanation of his/her presence.
GENERAL SOLICITATION
No person shall solicit in or around the property of Terminal 4. All persons without a business purpose at Terminal 4 will be asked to leave the premises.
GROUND TRANSPORTATION
Ground transportation services shall be provided at Terminal 4 only by NYC-TLC licensed taxis, Port Authority permitted operators and pre-arranged service.
PRE-ARRANGEMENT IS REQUIRED FOR PROVIDING GROUND TRANSPORTATION SERVICES
Pre-arranged service must display an announcement card listing:
1. The name of the ground transportation provider.
2. The name of the person for whom service was reserved.
3. The name of the airline and flight number on which the passenger arrived.
SOLICITATION OF GROUND TRANSPORTATION SERVICE IS PROHIBITED
No person shall solicit, within or outside Terminal 4.
No person shall operate a vehicle for pick up at Terminal 4 for the purpose of soliciting ground transportation services, or to attract ground transportation passengers.
LOCATIONS FOR LOADING & UNLOADING GROUND TRANSPORTATION
Vehicles providing ground transportation services shall load or unload passengers only at locations designated for that purpose.
TRESSPASS NOTICE
Persons engaging in activities which are in violation of state and/or local laws, the rules and regulations of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey or any of the rules cited above, may be cited for trespassing and ultimately, subject to criminal prosecution.
Persons deemed in violation will not be permitted to enter or remain upon the premises of John F. Kennedy International Airport including, Terminal 4 or any terminal building, sidewalks, passenger pick-up areas and parking lots.
CCTV SURVEILLANCE

WI-FI and Bluetooth

Terminal 4 is dedicated to environmental improvements that foster a sustainable future and lead to social and economic improvements within the terminal and airport community.
Water Efficiency
Terminal 4 is designed to use 34% less water than comparable buildings, which amounts to more than 5 million gallons per year.
Energy Management
Terminal 4’s energy management plan has the building performing 20% better than similar buildings and 30% better than other airport terminals.
Waste management
Terminal 4 is working to reduce its impact on landfills, and is aiming to recycle 50% of all waste from the building.
Indoor Air Quality
Terminal 4 staff avoid any products or procedures that would negatively affect air quality. All cleaning products, grounds keeping, and construction practices have been developed to protect the air quality, and high levels of air filtration are used thought the building.
Green Cleaning
Terminal 4 has a green cleaning program that focuses on keeping the building as clean as possible but also keeping staff and passengers healthy and ensuring that the air is fresh.
